<a href="">Kenneth</a>

"Reservation Blues" by Sherman Alexie does explore "imaginative journey" without a doubt! He also wrote the screenplay for the movie "Smoke Signals."

"Blade Runner" of course explores imaginative journey in movie form... the idea for the movie taken from a work by Philip K. **** called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" In fact, Philip K. **** may provide just the type of novels and stories you're looking for... he wrote at a tremendous rate (speeding along) until his early death.

"Apocalypse Now" is a journey to end them all on the imaginative scale, a gem of a movie-- just don't look at the director's cut, which is much slowed down and tangential.

I'm sure there are many more, and prob'ly you'll get a pretty good list here on YA. Luck!

"House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski pushes the boundaries of imagination a lot. I recommend you check it out.
