I agree, but in many movies, it’s the exact opposite. Well..im Bruce Lee movies anyway. In fists of fury he fights two at a time, and then, of course, the group of a whole bunch of people. In enter the dragon, he’s in that fight with a whole bunch of people brawling and punching and fighting and stuff, but he only really wants to get at the head guy. And then there’s Lee vs. Japanese School, where he uses the open hand and the chucks, which is totally awesome….and again in enter the dragon, he has that scene with the snake and stuff where later on he fights a whole bunch of people and kills Jackie Chan.
In reality, Tai Chi masters have been known for their demonstrations of using Chi to repel like seven people all grabbing you without hardly touching them.

it is just a movie, movies hardly represent real life. It is just for entertainment. People in real life would gang up on you until your are knocked out. It is really funny though.

any school will teach you the straight line approach, move so that one opponent is in between you and the rest… but realistically, if 2 or more people surround you and all come in at the same time… it is bad news… I have been “jumped” by 3 guys, and did well enough for them to stop, and I was able to walk away, but the movie scene where all the bad guys are laying down crippled and the hero is unharmed is only a fantasy

Congratulations. You are very observant. This is more for the safety of the actors who are attacking, since everything is pre-rehearsed for the film.

However, in Aikido, a martial art I have practiced for some years, it is quite common to train against multiple attackers. It is a controlled situation for safety reasons, but there are defensive skills an Aikidoka will use, like always throwing one attacker into the others.

It is also very hard for a group of attackers not to get in each others’ way. However, if the attackers are skilled at working as a team (which is rare), they will be extremely difficult to defend against. Try not to be on the receiving end in such a case! :-)

believe it or not, that’s how a real fight go for guys. unless they’re *** then it’s a catfight

Not all movies are like that, sometimes they all attack at once, guess different henchmen have different mentality

Watch more ma movies, they are loads of movies that have the hero attack by numerous attackers.

eg the Armour of God - Jackie Chan
the last samurai - tom cruise or
most Tony Jaa films to name a few.

it wouldnt make a very good movie if the hero was getting his *** kicked by swarms of enemies

If you allow yourself to get encircled or trapped you will lose.If you stand your ground you will lose.Attack to escape in that situation forget the defensive stuff move constantly create a hole to slip thru and run.Using kicks in that situation is also bad it exposes your groin and pins you to one spot until the kick is completed learn to attack and hit while moving.
